Celebrating SuccessMaking a Difference...to JamesJames, a retired factory worker, was struggling. He was having a hard time keeping his diabetes under control and was unable to keep up with his rising household expenses. But then, he attended a senior health fair and met a health educator from the Food Bank of Central New York. After listening to James, she determined that he could benefit from a balanced, nutritious diet. She worked to enroll him for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits. A few months ago, our health educator met up with James at another senior health fair. He thanked her for saving his life. His diabetes is now under control and he is learning more about eating healthy, nutritious foods. Every day, employees from the Food Bank of Central New York are working in our community to eliminate hunger through nutritious food distribution, education and advocacy. We change the lives of thousands of central and northern New York residents because of your support. Learn more about nutrition education.
